In this tutorial, I demonstrate a simple textured art painting using smooth texture paste and acrylic paints. The focus is on building subtle textures with a simple colour gradient and some birds for details.
Materials
- Textuuri smooth texture paste
- Canvas
- Acrylic paints (Titanium White, Payne’s Grey)
- Paint roller
- Small paintbrush
- Palette knife
Process
The texture paste is applied with a palette knife and left to dry completely. Once dry, acrylic paint is layered using a roller to create a soft gradient across the surface.
After the base layers have dried, small details and highlights are added with a brush. Optional sketching is used for the birds before painting.
Notes
When working with texture paste, drying time is essential. Make sure the texture is fully dry before painting to avoid cracking or disturbing the surface.
